This design is heavy on the functionality side. Aesthetics were a minor factor. Other than the top being solid wood and drawer fronts not having visible fasteners, the rest of the design was purely functional. The drawer pulls had to be big and beefy so they would be easy to grab and sturdy. I also didn't want anything to come unscrewed so they were all glued in
