This bunkbed was designed to be sturdy and durable since it will probably get pretty beat up with years of kids sleeping in it. The materials were pretty cheap since it was all construction grade lumber but the design takes advantage of the strength in those materials. I would confidently sleep on this bed and sit up there with my kids or even another adult.
