My Story
I am an engineer by day and a woodworker by night... usually after the kids are in bed and before the neighbors call the cops. I started doing woodworking in middle school shop class and couldn't figure out why my projects at school looked so much better than the stuff I built at home with the skilsaw and jig saw. After convincing my dad to buy an old craftsman tablesaw from a friend, I figured out what my problem was… I needed more tools! It’s amazing how much straighter a tablesaw can cut than a freehand skilsaw!
When I finally got my own house, that tablesaw was the first thing I asked my dad for. I used that old tablesaw for years with a few aftermarket modifications.
For me, making stuff out of wood is one of the most satisfying hobbies there is. I love seeing the idea in my head slowly materialize. Wood also has so much natural beauty and personality. Every board is as different as every person; some are straight-grained and well-behaved and others are knotty, cranky, and cantankerous. But the fun part is giving them a second life as a piece of heirloom furniture or a toy that can be handed down to future generations.

I consider myself a serious hobbyist and I hope you can learn something and get inspired from the projects and mistakes that I make. I enjoy sharing the skills I've learned and I love it when people start making stuff! I share videos and pictures of my projects as well as educational woodworking videos with the goal of getting you out in the shop making sawdust!
